Gold Medal, International Mathematics and Science Olympiad for Primary School (IMSO) | 2019
This contest marked the first time I competed for Vietnam, also the first major international math olympiad I joined. Bringing back home a gold medal from one of the most prestigious junior math international contests, I was filled with indescribable joy and pride. This was also the first medal I won for Cau Giay, my secondary school, making the achievement even more special.
Silver Medal (Individual), Gold Medal (Team) & Gold Medal (Group), Indonesia International Mathematics Competition (IIMC) | 2021
As Covid-19 was prevailing, this competition was organized online. Getting qualified in my country’s team, I got the opportunity to study and work with other excellent mathematicians. With great collaboration and each of us working to our fullest potential, my team won the gold medal, proudly securing first place.
Valedictorian, Excellent Student Contest in Mathematics in District Level | 2022
Continuing a series of victorious achievements, without any doubt, I proudly became valedictorian at this contest, bringing glory and pride back to my school. Unfortunately, this event folded the victorious chapter.
Second Prize, Excellent Student Contest in Mathematics in City Level | 2022
After being named valedictorian at the district level, I entered the city-level contest with high expectations from my teachers, friends, and family. As the top math student in Cau Giay, I was indeed trusted to win first prize, and it was also my goal since achieving first prize would guarantee direct admission to Hanoi's top-tier high schools. However, setting such lofty expectations for the most prestigious math competition for secondary students proved challenging. The stress and pressure overwhelmed me, and I fell short of securing the first prize.
This experience stands as one of the setbacks in my academic journey, but it taught me resilience. With the encouragement and support of my family and teachers, I persevered, shifted my focus to the entrance exam, and was admitted to Hanoi High School for Gifted Students with outstanding results.
Second Prize, Vietnam Mathematics Competition for High School Students | 2023
This was my first math competition representing HSGS. I was selected for the school team by my teachers based on my strong performance at school. Nevertheless, competing against outstanding mathematicians from all over Vietnam was not easy, especially when I was one or two years younger than them, but I still managed to achieve the second prize.
Gold Medal, High School for Gifted Students Olympiad in Mathematics | 2023
My school organized a mathematics olympiad annually where all gifted schools from over Vietnam participated and competed. The gold medal from this olympiad was also my first gold medal in high school.
Third Prize, Vietnam Mathematics Olympiad | 2024
Being qualified into my school’s 10-people team for VMO - the most prestigious mathematical competition in Vietnam, I continued to work hard for this competition. However, competing against math monsters from other cities in Vietnam was challenging, especially when I was younger than most of the other contestants, so I only got to Third Prize. Still, this was a good start, and I’m looking forward to VMO 2025.
First Prize, High School Mathematics Summer Camp | 2024
I was greatly honored to be qualified to take part in this summer camp, where I had the unique opportunity to study and compete in a Math Challenge alongside talented peers from cities across Vietnam. Furthermore, learning from leading mathematics experts from VIASM (Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics) added an invaluable dimension to the program. This entire experience was extraordinary, and it has deepened both my passion for mathematics and my appreciation for the collaborative spirit of learning.
P/S: The food from the canteen here is quite delicious.
